Hi! This blog is used both for me to connect with piano students, and to explore the world of music. Come join me!
About
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Katie Phillips, and I’m a private piano teacher. I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember and as a child, I remember begging Mom to let me take piano lessons. She agreed when I turned eight years old. I knew I loved music then, but I didn’t realize how much my life would revolve around music! I took lessons for 12 years and began teaching piano in high school under the direction of my wonderful piano teacher, Judy Baker. My teacher was a member of the SCMTA (Snohomish County Music Teacher’s Association) in Washington State, so I had the opportunity to compete in many competitions, and receive instruction on occasion from professional pianists.
I also studied piano at the college level and took some pedagogy (piano teaching) classes to help refine my skills as a pianist and teacher.
I’ve taught piano for 10 years, and plan to teach for many more! I welcome students of any age, though young children may wish to only have a 10-15 min lesson.
My rates: $25 per half hour lesson, $37 per 45 min lesson, and $50 per hour lesson.
Please contact me and if I have any openings I’ll offer your first lesson for free!
